Chocolate chip cookies with date powder

Stack of chocolate chip cookies, serving inspiration

Bring a little date sweetness to your next baking afternoon. This small-batch idea uses oat flour and chocolate chips, with time to cool so the cookies can settle.

Makes about 12 small cookies · 15 minutes prep · 12–15 minutes baking

What you’ll need

  • 6 tablespoons softened butter
  • ¾ cup Life Dates Date Powder
  • ¾ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup oat flour
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon cream of tartar
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ cup chocolate chips

Make it your own

  1. Heat the oven to 175°C / 350°F and line a baking tray.
  2. Mix the butter, date powder and vanilla. Beat in the egg, then mix in the remaining ingredients.
  3. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions onto the tray with room between them and gently flatten.
  4. Bake for 12–15 minutes, looking for lightly coloured edges. Let the cookies firm up on the tray before moving them to a rack.
